1903 Carbine

Hi,

my name is Peter and I am new on this forum. I am a "sportschuetze", kind of competitive shooter, a hunter and come from Germany.

I have a question about my newly acquired Mannlicher-Schoenauer 1903 built in 1908:

Does anyone know in which period of time these stocks with rounded pistol grips were used?

Welcome Peter,it's my understanding the switch to a capped grip happened about 1910.I prefer the look of the round grip,but like them all.

The scope, which is mounted right now, a Hensoldt Dural-Dialytan 4x Ser.# 20843, is from about 1950 I presume. What kind of low power short-scope would have been used around 1908, the date of production for the rifle, using the typical claw mount? Who were the scope makers on the market at those times; pre WW I?

I suppose that the best find to yours rifle would be old Kahles scope. Like in this kuduae foto:
