Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1930
      #267106 - 29/06/15 01:26 AM

I would be grateful for any information about Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1930 sporting rifles. These rifles, which were marketed in 6.5x54MS and I think also in other calibres, brought the 'Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1930' along with the Steyr logo markings on the action's left wall. I think they were manufactured pre-WW2.Information on the Net is scarce and often contradictory so any expert advice about this Model 1930 would be most welcome.

If you remove the barrel/action from the stock you should find with serial number some Austrian proof marks..usually a number followed by a '.' and another two digit number. This will be the actual year of proof. so for example 1779.22 = 1922 proof date.

Maybe you already came across this link: http://mannlicherschoenauer.com/mannlicherfacts6.htm
Cheers.

Hello Louis,

the so called "1930s" were the last exported Schoenauer-Actions to Greece military.
Most of them came back to the german-speaking-countries after WWII and were rebuilt into hunting rifles. Not very interesting for collectors.

They were marked on the left side of the action, I think with "System Mannlicher-Schoenauer 1930" or similar.
