I ate golden catties from Lake Argyle WA that were brought back into Karumba Qld.
Minced and made into patties they were ok.

Well I was telling my mate over the road in Karumba at the time and he told me how he was working on bro`s barra boat at the time and before his bro peter had installed an onboard toilet.
As he recounted the norm was to get up in the morning and hang ones arse over the end of the barra boat to evac the bowels.

Well Phillip said " you know when you are on a barra boat and scalping fish after robbing the nets you will have a few hundred catties hanging about the stern waiting fro fish frames etc"

He continued "Well one morning i got up and hung my arse over the stern and dropped a monster Henry The Third and I turned around to check it out when a huge catty rose up out of the depths and went gloop! and swallowed it in one mighty bite"

To this day catfish up north have been off the menu!
