Big Game Rifle Nationals

For any one that is interested. The SSAA Big Game Rifle Nationals will be held on the 28th of July this year in Tasmania. At the Blue Hills range Sorrell.
The 8 core events will be shot.
National titels to be decided will be

National champion
Veteren " "
Junior " "
Ladies " "
State Team " "

Do you just register and rock-up? Or do you have to qualify somewhere? What are the eight core events? How many rifles do folks fly with?

The only qualification is that you are a financial member of the

SSAA
NRA
BSAC
SABA (South African )

The 8 core events are
Group 1
Group 2
Group 3
Stalking double
Stopping double
Black powder express
Special snap
Bore gun.

The rules and rifle classifications are on this forum

COMPETITION PRACTICES & RIFLE CLASSISIFACTIONS

Just get here any way you can.

I have just checked the calender, and it is on a weekend, of course... hmmmm...

I guess travelling with two rifles wouldn't be too much of an issue. A bit of excess baggage...

I'll think seriously about this, but won't be able to reach a decision until closer to the date due to other commitments. But I am sorely tempted to get down there! It'd be a hoot!

Barry has told me I have to be there, so I guess I will be.

Not sure how I'm getting there yet, probably driving.

Other than the shooting what else is happening? Is there a dinner or bbq afterwards, or anything like that?

As you are aware two of your fellow countrymen are coming over ,we need you to make up the third member of the US team.

Blue hills range is 18 klm south of Sorrell on the main rd to Port Arthur.
Sorrell is just past the Hobart Airport. Most of us are staying at the Hobart Airport Holiday Park

you will be more than welcome. There is already 7 Queenslanders coming down that I know of there may be more,time will tell
