notice the older gentleman with the double behind of queen elizabeth in nepal 1961. looks like a special life guard for the special situation of dangerous game. maybe the old man on his side did the same job with a double on the other side of the elephant .
some old hands for sure

Her Majesty seems to always have some lovely rifles in her Safari photos. Fantastic stuff!

Great photo, thanks as always Lancaster for sharing.
It would be great to get the real story behind the scene.

Cheers

I knew a guy (since passed away a couple of years ago) who drove her around a little bit while she was here in Brisbane in the 1950's (he was in the army at the time). He had a photo taken by the press of him opening the car door for her.

I also knew a guy (not all that well, a friend of my brother-in-law's parents who had a property near his, I did have dinner at his place once though) who had Princess Alexandra of Kent stay at his place at Warwick in the late 1950s. That part of Old Stanthorpe Road between Warwick and his property was sealed just for that visit (and has been maintained ever since).

Lancaster thanks for posting. Some very nice rifles in that photo.

The blocke with the doble or shootie looks like an old Spencer Tracey, who would of been younger at the time.
