They are reputable Ferlach gunmakers (there are two of them, Anton and Franz Sodia) and both have made some nice double rifles. Do you have a particular gun in mind? What do you want to know?

When you say a particular gun in mind, I would think I need to ask if there is a model or "line" of guns that one should be looking for that is their "Best".. The Rifle I have been looking at is a very ornate piece.. I would think that it has as much craftsmanship as they are able to gave a Double.. Would like to know as much as you know about Franz his rifles for starters..
Thanks,
AK

My general impression, which is not "learned", is that any of his rifles will be fit and finished for function to the same excellent standard, and then there might be differences in ornamentation.

Anyone who has experience?

JPK's post is on the dot. Franz Sodia guns are very well made and finished to the degree of ornamentation that the client demands. Funnily I have not seen any recent listing of Ferlach gunmakers where they are listed and have no idea why.

They are one of the world's premium gunmakers, though, and have amde some very fine shotguns and double rifles.

Best wishes,

Thanks for Your replys.. It would seem that this Double would be worth a closer look.. It's chambered in 458 Win. as are most of these Era Euro Doubles.. I have one Double in the shop being rechambered to 450 3 1/4.. This would be another project Double if things pan out.. 450 No.2 ..No a Lottsurr'oc ..

Akrange,

Good luck. Do post pictures of your gun and also of the Sodia if you buy it. Let us drool over the pictures a bit.

Good hunting!
