12 gauge to 45-70 inserts - make your own cape gun or double
      #197316 - 20/12/11 06:32 AM

I have a couple of 12 gauge to 45-70 adaptors I'm not using that I bought from

http://www.mcace.com/shotguninserts.htm

I'll knock $20 off his list price and cover the shipping within the US:

I paid:
For 10" length $95.00 plus $6.00 S & H
For 18" length $150.00 plus $8.00 S & H

So I'll sell you mine for $75 shipped (10 inch) or $130 shipped (18 inch).
If you want them both it would be $205 shipped.

I don't think you can ship them outside the US. Pesky federal rules...

That makes no sense at all which means that you are probably right - so since I don't want to even risk getting close to breaking any rules, I'll only ship within the US then. Thanks AkMike.

The 10 inch insert is SPF, 18 inch still available to convert your side by side into a shotgun/rifle combination or make your single shot 12 a 45-70 rifle.

SPF in this context is "Sold Pending (receipt of) Funds"

I've never shot them and now that they are sold - probably never will.

I was really tempted, but depending on where it would cross the border, there could be problems or not. It's a mite strange in some customs offices. No one seems to really know the actual import laws, but do as they want - with no recourse from anyone. Now, the US also has some nasty export laws and it's all under the veil of something called "Free Trade".

LOL, it's be intersting to try and label it as a '12 to 45 machined einstecklaufe' on the export declaration forms. They wouldn't have a clue!

HA! Barrel blanks are not a problem - the problem comes when something finished looking hits the border office. Then the crap sometimes hits the fan, sometimes not.

Too changing the calibre of a registered firearm, 12 bore to .45 cal. might not sit well with whomeever is examining it - if it is indeed recognised.

Many of the rifles I registered, I registered having multiple calibres, etc, just because they either existed or I'd planned on adding them later. The registration card has no calibre on it, but running it into the computer system brings up the whole schmele, I'm told.

Of course, when the Senate gets finished rubber stamping the Tory's law, registration becomes moot and all is supposed to be destroyed - to the consternation of Quebec.

How that will effect customs, I've no idea.

Don't mention bore, guage or caliber. They will think it's a pump part!
