Ruger 77RSM Forend Bedding
      #98926 - 11/03/08 01:52 AM

I have a two-part question for anyone who has had their Ruger Model 77RSM bedded:
1) Can the recoil plate be removed if the action and forend are bedded?
2) If so, is their any significant weight savings or improvement in balance when the plate is removed?

I have the same complaint as everyone else about my 375 H&H...it's heavier than it needs to be (I still think it's a fantastic gun for the money, so I'm willing to live with it). I'm trying to decide if I want to have the action bedded, and if it shaves some ounces off the rifle or improves the muzzle-heavy feel there won't be much of a decision to make.
