Gryphon,

Manohar Mulgaokar is probably the finest living historian of India in the 20th century. And I understand his anguish - it would be prudent to note that the foremost conservationists in India today are the former royalty, all of whom were keen hunters in the old days.

I'd say he's "got his priorities right" .. he is also brave.

Surprising and refreshing to read, coming from such quarters as modern day India.Thanks for sharing!

I'll ask Rustam to send you an internal memo from one of the top forest officers in India. It is revealing beyond anything that comes out of India by way of the news.

Sadly, no one is likely to listen to him or do anything about it...
